The Anti-Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide (Anti-CCP) Test detects antibodies often present in people with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). These antibodies can appear years before symptoms develop, making this test useful for early diagnosis and assessing the risk of joint damage.

Why This Test is Done:

• Help diagnose rheumatoid arthritis, especially in early stages

• Differentiate RA from other types of arthritis

• Predict disease severity and progression

How It Works:
A blood sample is collected and tested for anti-CCP antibodies. Elevated levels strongly suggest rheumatoid arthritis, particularly when combined with other findings such as rheumatoid factor (RF).
