The Amylase Test measures the amount of amylase enzyme in your blood. Amylase is produced mainly by the pancreas and salivary glands and helps the body break down carbohydrates. Elevated or decreased levels can indicate conditions such as pancreatitis, pancreatic injury, or salivary gland disorders.

How It Works:
A blood sample is collected and analyzed for amylase levels. In some cases, a urine test for amylase may also be performed.
